About Interim President Landry
Donald W. Landry, M.D., Ph.D. is the interim president of the University of Florida, effective September 1, 2025. He is founding director of the Burch-Lodge Center for Human Longevity at Columbia as well as Chair Emeritus of the Department of Medicine at Columbia University and past Physician-in-Chief at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, leading the Department and the Medical Service from 2007-2023. He is also past founding director of the Division of Experimental Therapeutics. Dr.
Landry completed his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with Nobel laureate R.B. Woodward at Harvard University in 1979 and then obtained the M.D. degree from Columbia University in 1983. After completing his Residency in Internal Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School, he returned to Columbia for training as an NIH Physician-Scientist, 1985-90, and remained as a member of the Columbia faculty until his appointment at the University of Florida in 2025.
